Looking for the Juice in Bondi

Sep 14, 2017  ·  4 min read

Whether it’s on the bars of the open-air gym or in the bustling café’s of Hall St, everyone’s getting a little juiced in Bondi.

For those of us that prefer the fresh & tasty on your tongue version, The Bondi Bubble will keep you smiling with all the of juices under the sun. The Bondi juice obsession means you won’t survive as a café without a respectable selection on the menu, with most opting for a separate juice menu and many an entrepreneurial spirit making their living by the beach by specialising in the craft itself.

Whether it’s freshly squeezed or bottled, cold pressed or blended, thick or thin, bright green or black, fruit or veg- you’ll find it in the Bubble and we’ve put together a few of the best juices around town to sort you out for your pre-workout boost or your detoxifying hangover cure.

Cali Press
The juice specialist’s of Bondi, there’s a good chance you’ve sampled one of their flavours at a café around Sydney before. From what was once an ice-cream shop, the open plan store has a stylish fit out that offers a spot to sit and watch the magic while you’re slurping down the sweetness. For a little health kick, try a concentrated Tonic Shot or if you’re looking for the full detox, you can order their deep juice cleanse.

Bondi Juice Company
As the name suggests, these guys are all about juice. Their funky store opened up at the Junction in 2015 and has become a regular stop for many of the 9-5ers and Bondi’s juice enthusiasts searching for a healthy on-the-go option. A collective of health and fitness fanatics, the crew at The Bondi Juice Co have created smoothies, juices and shakes from all the fresh produce you can crush into a bottle. Dr Detox is the perfect medicine after a big night and if you’re looking for something to soothe the post workout pains, get the Ginger Ninja in ya.

Orchard St
The juices of Orchard St, found on the corner of Brighton Blvd and Wairoa Ave, just a hop and a skip from the doors of QT Bondi, look as good in the bottle as they taste on the tongue. All organic, kale, coconut water, sugar-free, dairy-free… this place screams Bondi and a ‘Gram of the Orchard St bottle is almost as iconic as a shot of the Icebergs pool.

Bondi Wholefoods
Tucked away on the corner of Wairoa Ave and Hastings Pde Bondi Wholefoods is the Mecca for Bondi’s hipster community. They’ve got a truly famous juice selection and with one that features the Body Defence Health Smoothie, it’s no wonder why. This spirulina-infused smoothie claims to be gram for gram the most nutritious food on the planet – doesn’t get much better than that!

Bondi Farmers Market
If you’re with us for the weekend, make sure you pop next door to the Bondi Farmers Market, which runs every Saturday on the sunny grounds of Bondi Beach Public School. Among the fresh fruit and veg are the resident juice makers, my pick of which is the all-natural Cane Juice Company – the Cane & pineapple combo is absolutely unbeatable.
