The Four Cocktails to Try in Bondi

Dec 4, 2017  ·  2 min read

The abundance of drinking establishments in Bondi makes it quite hard to choose where to go. We think a good way to start is to focus on the cocktails themselves.

Make sure to add these four Bondi cocktails to your ‘Bucket List’.

Cuba Libre at The Rum Diaries

Three words. Lime. Ice. Sphere. The well-known and regularly consumed Cuba Libre cocktail has a bit of something more at The Rum Diaries with this spin on the ice. Still expect the usual coke, lime and Bacardi Blanco combo, just with an extra edge. Also, unlike what the bar name suggests, there are plenty of other drinks on offer that are not for the rum at heart so do not fear. Everyone will be satisfied.

Paid to Surf at The Bucket List

The name says it all. In true Bondi style, this cocktail is the embodiment of summer (but is tasty all year round). The combination of Pampero and passionfruit makes a refreshing and sunny Mojito that is perfect for the warm weather. The other great thing is that The Bucket List offers the choice of pitchers or glasses of this and many more cocktails to make it a small or large group-friendly watering hole.

Buttered Popcorn Espresso Martini at Bondi Hardware

Experimenting with flavour-infused Espresso Martinis is becoming quite the hobby for many bartenders. And we are not complaining. Combining Vodka, Kahlua, buttered popcorn and espresso this is, quite literally, the cream of the crop. As an added bonus, this bustling local haunt offers plenty of options to satisfy most food cravings. Bondi Hardware is a winner in our book.

Classic Margarita at The Anchor South Bondi

A simple, well-executed, cold, balanced Margarita can sometimes be all that you need. And the one at The Anchor hits the spot. If Margaritas are not your thing, they also specialise in rum-based cocktails. A great wine and beer list rounds it out, topped off by some fantastic food options. Enjoy the nautical touch, it’s fun not kitsch and allows for a welcoming, comfortable vibe to sit down for a while and try the tasty cocktails!
